Braided Sleeve is sold per meter.
Wires and cables can be routed through the sleeve and the flexible construction expands to accommodate a range of diameters of cable.
Features and Benefits
• Good abrasion resistance
• UV light resistant
• Resistant to most chemicals and solvents
Expandable braided cable sleeving is used as an alternative to heatshrink tubing. The difference between expandable cable sleeving and heat-shrink tubing is that expandable sleeving doesn't require any heating making it convenient, cost-effective and easy to use. The open weave braiding of this cable sleeving simply expands over the cables and components and contracts to provide a tight-fitting cover. The open weave of the sleeve also allows you to examine the wires underneath. Braided sleeving protects wires and cables from damage caused by abrasion from sharp edges, high impacts, and vibration. Cable sleeving, depending on the material used, also gives the cable protection from chemicals and solvents.
• Lightweight and flexible
• High expansion ratio allows quick and easy installation
• Excellent abrasion and cut-through resistance
• Highly flexible with a high tensile strength
• UV light resistant makes sleeving ideal for outdoor use
• PET resistant to most chemicals and solvents including petrol and other automotive fluids
• Operating temperature range -40 to +125°C
Expandable braided cable sleeving is lightweight and flexible and provides a protective covering for electrical wires, cables, and hoses. This expandable construction of this braided sleeve also makes it ideal for use as a cable management sleeve for bundling cables together and wire harnessing. This braided PET sleeving is used in a wide range of applications in automotive, electronic, computer, industrial and marine industries and can also be used around the home and office for keeping your computer, TV, and home entertainment cables tidy.
For a tight fit choose a cable sleeving diameter that is a smaller size than your application. For a more flexible fit select a cable sleeve diameter that is the same size or slightly larger than your application, this will ensure that the application is able to smoothly and easily move such as a bundle of wires. Once the correct cable sleeving size is selected you will need to cut the sleeve to the correct length. If the sleeve is not cut correctly it can fray. To prevent fraying use a hot cutting tool such as a hot knife or a soldering iron with a sharp tip. Slice the braid using even pressure to leave an evenly sealed edge on the material. While the end is cooling you can flare it using a small cone-shaped object to hold it open. Once the sleeve is cut to size simply push and slide the sleeve into place over the cable or fittings.
